55 ATs for AMHEC

Saudi Arabian rental company Arabian Machinery & Heavy Equipment Co (AMHEC) has ordered 55 All Terrain cranes from Liebherr, the largest order Saudi Liebherr has ever received.

The cranes range from 100 to 800 tonnes, and include the 100 tonne LTM 1100-5.3, 100 tonne LTM 1110-5.2, 160 tonne LTM 1160-5.2, 230 tonne LTM 1230 5.1, 250 tonne LTM 1250-5.1, 300 tonne LTM 1300-6.3, 450 tonne LTM 1450-8.1, 700 tonne LTM 1650-8.1 and the 800 tonne LTM 1750-9.1, which becomes the company's flagship displacing a 500 tonne Liebherr for the title.

The first cranes are due to arrive in Saudi Arabia in the coming months and will take the AMHEC fleet to more than 500 cranes.

AMHEC chief executive, Abdullah Al-Suwaiket said: “Our decision for this purchase is based on many years of positive experience with mobile cranes from Liebherr. We trust in the quality of its products and excellent service. We already have numerous cranes with a capacities from 50 to 500 tonnes, and are now proud to complete our fleet with a nine axle crane, so that we can fulfil all orders for our customers. The cranes are a great addition to our fleet and a beneficial factor to our sustainable growth in this promising market.”

Ajanthas Kumarathas of Liebherr added: “We are proud to be able to supply AMHEC with this number of cranes. Since 1983, Liebherr has consistently demonstrated to its customers in Saudi Arabia its reliability as a partner. We look forward to extending the partnership with AMHEC.”

AMHEC is based on the Eastern side of Saudia Arabia, with locations in Dammam and Al Khobar entered the crane rental and heavy lift market in 2007, adding rig move services for the oil & gas industry in 2017 with contracts from Saudi Aramco Contractors.
