Fatal crush incident in Western Australia
A man died yesterday in a crush/entrapment incident while using an aerial work platform on a construction site in the Perth suburb of O’Connor.
While WorkSafe WA has not made a formal statement yet, we understand from our contacts that the man, 32, was trapped between the basket guardrail and an overhead beam/obstacle. We are told - and have even been sent a photograph - that he was using an articulated boom lift at a relatively low level, but have not been able to confirm that yet.
The site was relatively quiet at the time, but he was brought down by a colleague and was sadly declared dead at the scene.
