Manitou celebrates 40

Manitou has celebrated 40 years as a public company by ringing the opening bell on the Paris stock exchange.

The company was first listed on April 24th 1984, and has grown into a business with 10 production sites and 34 companies on all seven continents employing 5,500 individuals.

In 2023, the company achieved its highest sales of €2.9 billion, 82 percent of which was generated outside of France.

Chairman Jacqueline Himsworth said: “The decision to open up our capital to the stock market enabled us to strengthen our financial structure while looking to the long term. Today, we are maintaining this vision to ensure the long term future of our group, with the confidence of our investors enabling us to continue to develop Manitou group’s business.”

The share price, which was close to €1 at the time of the original flotation, has climbed to €25. Shares are listed in compartment A of the Euronext Paris market. Today, 64.5% of its equity is held by the Braud and Himsworth families.
