A lineman working for communications company Spectrum in New York state lost his life last month after coming too close to overhead power lines while using a pickup mounted aerial work platform.
The incident occurred on April 19th in the town of Berne, west of the state capital Albany, the man, 56, was apparently carrying out overnight routine maintenance on a utility pole. He was declared dead at the scene. The platform caught fire and was completely destroyed.
The tragic scene
A statement from the company said: “This was a tragic accident with an employee who had been with us for more than 25 years. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends and coworkers who worked with him every day. This is a devastating loss for everyone, and he will be greatly missed.”
