UK based React Access has joined the Access Alliance, the association of independently owned regional rental companies.
Based in Milton Keynes, the company was set up in 2018 by James Caney and Samantha Kettle as a service, maintenance and repair business for aerial work platforms. They were joined by managing director Duncan Howard and sales director Chris Caney at the end of 2020.
Around five years ago the company ‘dipped its toe’ in the rental market and has steadily built up a respectable fleet of boom and scissor lifts, recently adding a second delivery truck. While the rental operation is progressing, the service and engineering division remains as the core business with workshops in Milton Keynes, that allow it to work on larger scissor lifts or an entire boom. Boom telescope inspections have also become a significant speciality.
Access veteran Chis Caney, was supposed to have retired in 2018, but simply struggles to stay away from the industry he loves. He and Duncan Howard set up Platform Sales & Hire in 2002, building it into a £10 million 850 unit business, before selling it to Speedy Hire in 2017.
