UK access industry veteran Steve Moody is to retire from his role as sales director at UK rental company GTAccess. He leave later this year, in order to seek a new life on the beaches of Thailand. He has been with the company since the start of 2009.
Although he and his partner might become distracted in Thailand, he plans to continue working with the company on a part time consulting basis, assisting with some of aspects of his previous role. Over the next few months, he will play a key role in recruiting his successor In case you wonder he is only in his late 50s – so it's a really early retirement.

Moody began his career in 1985 with a two year telesales apprenticeship with scaffold, tower and ladder manufacturer, sales and rental company Stephens & Carter. Just 12 months later he won promotion into a direct sales role. In 1989 he was recruited by UpRight’s UK sales and rental subsidiary Instant Zip-Up, which ran a sales and rental fleet that included alloy towers, alongside boom and scissor lifts, mostly from UpRight and Genie. He initially worked out of its Birmingham branch, one of 22 sales and rental locations.
Over the next 14 years or so he had a range of different roles, including regional sales representative, branch manager, northern sales director, leaving the business in 2001 to join Geoff Till Access as sales director, staying for three years before setting up his own sales company – Safe 2 Reach – in 2004. Moving back to Tills – now GTAccess - in 2009.

Managing director Jonathan Till said: “I have known Steve for all of my ‘Access’ life, some 36 years, firstly as a customer, then as a colleague but mostly as a friend. We will miss his experience and enthusiasm, but he will still be around in the background to assist with our continued growth We wish him every success in this new chapter of his life.”
