Zoomlion and PB team up

Chinese manufacturer Zoomlion and German big scissor lift manufacturer PB have announced a 'long term' partnership
Chinese manufacturer Zoomlion and German big scissor lift manufacturer PB have announced a long term partnership to develop sales of Zoomlion aerial work platforms across the German speaking region.

The agreement will kick off with an inventory in Germany of several hundred machines in order to offer short delivery times. The agreement will officially launch at Platformers Days in September where the two companies will have a joint stand.

PB managing director Dieter Pawlowski said: "We at PB are very pleased about this partnership with Zoomlion and are convinced that together we can create added value for our customers at the machine, sales and service level. The combination of our expertise and Zoomlion's possibly not yet sufficiently known resources and knowhow in the DACH region offer the best conditions for this. We already work well together in several areas and have therefore decided to expand this cooperation."

Zoomlion regional sales director Bryan Yang added: “Zoomlion is really excited to announce this partnership with PB. With Zoomlion’s top-grade aerial work platforms and PB’s rich experience in the local access industry, customers in DACH region can expect top quality products with local parts delivery and quick response service support.”

Vertikal Comment

PB has a strong record in recent years of working with Chinese manufacturers to provide a PB branded small scissor lift to compliment its larger models. It has worked with Dingli, and then in 2019 LGMG. The announcement does not mention badging and will include the full product range.

One the major potential benefits of working with PB is its close connection with Rothlehner, which has one of the strongest service networks with Lift Manager in Germany and adjoining markets.

In another development Zoomlion has been added to the ongoing ‘anti-dumping’ and subsidy investigation by the EU Commission, joining JLG, Genie, Dingli and Sinoboom. The outcome of the investigation could have implications for the partnership.
