250 tonner for Seeland

German crane rental and heavy transport company Gustav Seeland has taken delivery of its second 250 tonne Grove GMK5250XL-1 All Terrain crane.

The five axle crane features an eight section 78.5 metre main boom topped by an 18 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can be extended to 34 metres with additional inserts. Features include Grove’s MAXbase variable outrigger setup, Megatrak suspension with all-wheel steering and twin lock boom pinning system. Power comes from a single HVO ready Stage V Mercedes diesel which is said to offer a 30 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous power units.

The crane lifting the ventilation unit

The crane went straight to work lifting a 4.5 tonne ventilation unit onto the roof of a 27 metre building set with 60 metres of boom at a radius of 31.5 metres.

Hamburg based Seeland runs a fleet of All Terrain and self-erecting mobile tower cranes alongside spider and loader cranes. Established in 1932 the company has been in business for more than 90 years.
