14th Grove for Baldini

Italian crane rental company Baldini has taken delivery of its 14th Grove, a 250 tonne GMK5250XL-1 All Terrain crane.

The five axle crane features an eight section 78.5 metre main boom topped by an 18 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can be extended to 34 metres with additional inserts. Features include Grove’s MAXbase variable outrigger setup and all-wheel steering. Power comes from a single HVO ready Stage V Mercedes diesel which is said to offer a 30 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous power units. The crane will be used for tower crane assembly, boat handling duties, and various industrial and construction projects.
The hand over

Co-owner Andrea Baldini said: “We like to have versatile cranes in our fleet, and with the GMK5250XL-1 we get a compact crane, with a long boom, strong carrier, and great load charts. The operators love it because it has a really comfortable cab and is easy and intuitively set up. We can configure it in multiple set-ups and it's perfect for a wide variety of projects."

Grove sales manager for Italy, Roberto Zucchi said: "Congratulations to Andrea, Barbara, and the whole team at Baldini on this latest purchase. We are proud to support the ongoing growth and success of the company. Our relationship goes back to 2005, and the company has been a loyal customer ever since. Baldini was among the first customers in Italy for some of our most successful models of recent times, such as the GMK6300L, GMK4100, and GMK5130. Our service engineer Mario Marenco has a close relationship with the company and ensures consistent, maximum uptime for the cranes."
The crane gets to work
