Hudson Lifting expands westward

UK lifting gear company Hudson Lifting has opened its fifth location in Bridgewater, Somerset to cover the English South West. The newly built 5,550 square metre facility, has warehousing on the ground floor with offices above. It is located just off junction 24 of the M5 north south motorway, on the south east side of the town.

Hudson Lifting, was acquired by AER last April and offers a wide range of lifting gear, hoists, material lifts and work at height equipment for sale or rental. It also offers certified equipment inspection services etc.. Based in Tilbury, east London it has other depots in Portsmouth, Birmingham, Dartford, Kent and Drayton near Heathrow Airport.
The company recruited Aaron Huxtable to oversee the new location as general manager for the South West region. He joined the company in February after almost eight years with general rental company GAP, where he had a similar role, based in Bristol. He started out in the lifting business in 2011 with crane rental company King Lifting, leaving after five years for the job at GAP.

Speaking of the new location Huxtable said: “We have been planning and getting things ready for a few months now, but we are ready to start serving seasoned pros in the lifting sector or first time customers, from this new base in the South West. We have a huge range of lifting equipment from a variety of top level suppliers, while our local team is backed up Hudson’s central team with decades of experience in the lifting industry.”

“We are also offering inspection, testing, maintenance and repair services for our customer’s own equipment as well as online certification management.”

Director Jeff Hudson added: “We are now five and operating across the entirety of the South of England, from Coast to Coast, and raising the bar in terms of lifting equipment hire solutions. Additionally, with the backing of our owners, AER Rents, there will be more new depots to come.”.
