Chinese aerial lift and telehandler manufacturer Sinoboom has broken ground on its new manufacturing facility in Silao, Guanajuato State, Mexico.
The new plant will eventually cover around 186,000 square metres and has been designed from the starts for intelligent manufacturing, with a high level of automation, in most areas, including welding, painting and assembly, with smart monitoring systems to maximise production efficiency and deliver consistent quality levels.
The formal ground breaking ceremony
The new plant will build most of the company’s products, including slab and Rough Terrain scissor lifts, telescopic and articulated boom lifts, mast booms, mast time vertical lifts and telehandlers. The company hopes that by 2028, it will have a capacity to build around 20,000 units a year. Most of the plant production will stay in the Americas. Once the facility starts to go online it was start by producing the machines that currently produced in Poland for the USA, with a higher in house content than Sinoboom’s Poznan plant.
The new facility has also been designed to have a low environmental impact, with maximum energy efficiency, along with minimal waste or emissions from paint and other processes.

The event was well attended with local government representatives, including the mayor of Silao, Carlos García Villaseñor, the governor of Guanajuato Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo and the secretary general of the Ministry of Economy of the State of Guanajuato Ramón Alfaro Gómez, all of who spoke at the event - along with the management team from the industrial park, distributors, customers, contractors, and the Sinoboom Mexico team.
