German rental company W.Schnitger is to add the 2.5 tonne FB Gru GA 727 D80 self-erecting tower crane to its fleet, the first machine will be handed over at Platformer Days in early September.
The crane has can handle its 2.5 tonnes maximum capacity at up to a 10.1 metre radius, while the maximum jib length is 27 metres with a jib tip capacity of 700kg at a hook height of 20.4 metres. The jib can luff up to 30 degrees above the horizontal, for a maximum hook height of 32.1 metres. The crane is radio remote controlled and can be powered by a 230 or 400 Volt connection, has hydraulic outriggers and can be towed by a semi tractor at speeds of up to 80kph.
Schnitger is also expected to be appointed as a new service partner for FB Gru, it is already a service partner for France Elévateur, Bronto, Tadano, JLG, Genie, Haulotte, and Scania and is the European distributor for R&B spider cranes.
Founded in 1991 and based in Northeim, central Germany - halfway between Dortmund and Leipzig - W.Schnitger runs an extensive fleet of aerial work platforms, cranes and telehandlers supported by a team of 70.
