Eight 160t XCMG for Mid-East

Chinese construction equipment manufacturer XCMG has shipped eight custom built 160 tonne XGA160H All Terrain cranes to the Middle East.

The company has not released any details of the company or country that they are destined for, but the are all painted white and have been designed specifically to operate in extreme heat and withstand sand storms.

The XCA160H features a seven section 78 metre main boom topped by an 11 to 18.5 metre swingaway extension with up to 30 degrees of offset. While two eight metre lattice sections can be added between the boom nose and swingaway to achieve a maximum tip height of 110 metres. Maximum counterweight is 56.5 tonnes.

The five axle crane has an overall stowed width of three metres and an overall length of 16.22 metres axles two, three, four and five are driven, while all five axles steer. It is rated at 2.5 metres and can handle 130 tonnes at three metres. Capacity on the full boom is 8.2 tonnes.
