Crane drops bridge

A crane removing an old steel truss bridge in Stevens County, near Spokane Washington yesterday, dropped it onto a construction river barge, after its boom collapsed.

No on was injured and no details are available regarding the type of crane involved.

The contractor, Harcon Construction, had removed the paved bridge deck and was lifting away the truss section of the steel truss bridge when the accident happened. The state is now looking at how to remove the mangled wreckage from the river
