WH Scott acquires RHC

Anglo Irish lifting gear company WH Scott & Son Engineers has acquired UK based lifting gear supplier and testing company RHC Lifting.

RHC provides a wide range of lifting equipment, from mobile gantries, to load cells, spreader beams, slings and chain blocks. Its three directors Phil Goodway, Tony Morgan and Andy Cayzer will all remain with the business under WH Scott ownership, with Phil Goodway becoming managing director of the WH Scott Group’s UK Lifting Operations.

Established in 2001, RHC is based in Bristol, but operates from a total of seven locations in England. Speaking of the deal the company said: “By joining forces with WH Scott Group, we are confident that we can enhance our service offering and expand our capabilities it is known for its expertise, forward-thinking approach, and exceptional customer service. Together, we will be able to provide even more comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of our customers across a broader range of sectors.”

WH Scott is based in Newtownabbey/Belfast Northern Ireland and was founded as a boiler maker in Belfast by William Hill Scott and his son in 1897, today it operates from three locations in Ireland – two in the south and one in the north- along with three in England. Other companies in the group include: Hiltonne Engineering, Metlab, Re-Ropes and Hutcheon Examination Services.
