Italian crane rental company Baldini has taken delivery of a 110 tonne LTM 1110-5.2 All Terrain with the new Liccon3 controls, the second unit in Italy.
The five axle crane features a seven section, 60 metre main boom, topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bifold swingaway extension that can be offset by up to 40 degrees. Two extra inserts can be added between boom nose and extension to provide a maximum tip height of 96 metres.
Barbara Baldini, chief executive of Baldini Group said: “Basically, we needed a machine with a capacity of between 100 and 130 tonnes to fill a gap in our existing fleet. Three aspects were decisive for our choice. Firstly, the crane needed to be able to carry its own ballast on the road. Secondly, the VarioBase Plus outrigger set up system which makes the crane more capable, and thirdly it had to have a robust chassis, given the sites where it will need to access, to assemble prefabricated structures.”
The Baldini Group was founded in the early 1960s and provides crane and aerial work platform rental, along with breakdown services, and specialist transport across northern and central Italy. The company operates from five locations in Faenza, Forlì, Ravenna, Bologna and Fano, with a team of 150 employees.
