German rental company Richter Kran und Schwerlast has taken delivery of its 12th mobile crane, a 100 tonne Liebherr LTM 1100-5.3 All Terrain.
The five axle LTM 1100-5.3 features a seven section 62 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway which can be offset to 40 degrees and provides a maximum tip height of 68 metres.
The crane's first job was assembling a tower crane in Leipzig, followed by a second job the same day near Halberstadt where it was replacing electricity pylons. It will predominately be used for infrastructure, construction and for network expansion projects.
Owner, Matthias Richter said: “The LTM 1100-5.3 is a modern, innovative crane representing the latest technical generation. As we’re thinking ahead and aiming to position ourselves for the future, it ideally complements our fleet.”
“For us, the new LTM is an excellent taxi crane. Thanks to its long telescopic boom, low weight and width of just 2.55 metres, we can use it flexibly.”
“We now have 12 cranes, all sourced from Ehingen. This benefits our crane drivers as well, since the standardised controls across the machines make their work easier.”
Matthias Richter started off in 2007 as a 'one man band' with a single loader crane, setting up Richter Kran und Schwerlast that same year in Grimma, central Germany, he initially focused on transporting building materials. Then in 2016 purchased his first Liebherr, an LTF 1060-4.1 truck mounted crane which he still uses to help build wind turbine foundations. He added two more Liebherr’s, the LTM 1070-4.2 and an LTM 1090-4.2 and by 2019, had 20 employees and was obliged to move to a new site in Leipzig.
The company now employs 55 and offers both transport and crane work. All the mobile cranes in the business are Liebherr topped by a 750 tonne LTM 1750-9.1 purchased second hand.
