Niftylift has launched its 2024-25 RC Nifty Challenge which involves students from eight UK schools in a design competition aimed at fostering interest in STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - subjects.
The event – at Nifty's headquarters in Milton Keynes - introduced students to the competition's structure, timeline and rules. Activities also included a factory tour showcasing Niftylift’s manufacturing processes, guidance on using the RC Nifty website portal, and a careers talk highlighting opportunities in engineering and the company's apprenticeship programme.
Each team also received a project box with model kits and assembly instructions to begin their projects.
Participating schools in the Milton Keynes area included: Denbigh School, Hazeley Academy, Oakgrove School, Ousedale School, Stantonbury School, Sir Herbert Leon Academy, Walton High Academy, and Watling Academy.
The competition will conclude in April 2025 with students presenting their designs and testing their models at Niftylift’s headquarters. The challenge aims to inspire the next generation of engineers while showcasing potential career paths in the field.
