Transport mast climbers

The first meeting of the Transport Platform Working Group of the IPAF International Mast Climbing Work Platform Committee was held on 28 August in Milan, Italy.

Ernst van Hek, managing director of Hek Manufacturing, was elected chairman. The working group aims to create an international standard to promote safety in the use mast climbing transport platforms.

“This will fill a gap in the industry, where there are existing standards and guidelines for the use of mastclimbers and hoists, but not for this important new technology, transport platforms,” said van Hek.
