German hoist and platform manufacturer Geda has opened its new headquarters in Asbach-Bäumenheim, north west of Munich, following two and a half years of construction.
The new 6,000 square metre facility provides office space for 220 employees, who began moving into the building in October. Rather than installing a traditional staff canteen, the company has included a public restaurant - the M60 - which will serve both employees and local residents.
The new facility
The project required the relocation of a local road, which was approved by 83 percent of Asbach-Bäumenheim residents in a 2021 referendum.
Managing partner Johann Sailer said: “The building represents the company's second most significant milestone in its history, following the decision to establish its base in the Danube Ries region during the 1980s. The company plans to restructure its production facilities once the old office building is demolished."
The new headquarters is targeting DGNB Gold certification for sustainability and lifecycle management.
