New president for Barnhart

US based crane and rigging specialist Barnhart has promoted David Webster to president. He succeeds Alan Barnhart who will step down at the end of this year. He will, however, remain with the company as chairman. Webster is currently chief operations officer, a role he has held since October 2022. Prior to that he was senior vice president of operations for nine years, having joined Barnhart in 2014.

Webster began his career in 1994 with plastics manufacturer NMR Sealtech based in Mobile, Alabama. In his time with the company he became general manager and then president. In 2008, after 14 years with the company he moved to a similar role with pipe manufacturer RPS Composites, leaving for facilities service provider Critical Process Systems (CPS) in 2012. He remained with CPS as general manager until he was recruited by Barnhart in October 2014.

Chief executive Alan Barnhart said: "For nearly four decades, it has been my privilege to lead the company my parents launched from a spare bedroom in their home more than 55 years ago. With David at the reins, I have every confidence that we will achieve our vision of becoming a one hundred year company and more."

Jeff Latture, executive vice president added: "David takes over at a time when the company is very healthy and experiencing substantial growth. Alan will remain involved in the strategic direction of the company as chairman of the board."
