Austrian crane and aerial lift manufacturer Palfinger has appointed Marianne Heiss to its supervisory board following approval at the company's annual general meeting.

Heiss began her career in 1996 with advertising company BBDO Germany where she kicked off her 27 year tenure with the company moving up through the organisation from finance director to chief executive. She left in 2023 and became a member of the supervisory board of Flix coaches taking up similar roles with Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche the following year and later in the year joined the Paysafe and Ritter Sport's advisory boards, more recently she was appointed honorary representative for UNICEF Austria.
Heiss has has also written several books including 'Yes She Can – The Future of Management is Female', 'Strategic Cost Management in Practice', and hosts the 'VOICES' podcast where she discusses future issues with leaders from business, politics and culture.
Supervisory board chairman Hubert Palfinger said: "With her expertise in financial management, corporate social responsibility and environmental, social and governance, she strengthens the company's positioning.”
