Faymonville trailer for Colonia

German crane and heavy haulage company Colonia Spezialfahrzeuge has taken delivery of a Faymonville GigaMAX 1+3 low bed trailer. Prior to delivery, the unit was displayed at ES-GE's stand at bauma.

The GigaMAX features five pendulum axle lines each providing 600mm of travel and up to 60 degrees of steering angle. The trailer includes a 50mm hardwood floor, excavator recess, seven pairs of lashing rings and radio controlled steering.

The unit has a saddle load of 22,700kg and a capacity of 12 tonnes per axle, for a maximum gross weight of 70,700kg. With an unladen weight of approximately 22,520kg, the trailer offers a payload of up to 48,180kg.

The 2.75 metre wide loading area can be expanded to 3.2 metres with fold out extensions, while telescopic outer carriers allow the deck to be extended by up to five metres, providing approximately 13 metres of usable length between gooseneck and rear chassis.

ES-GE managing director Markus Hurdelhedy said: "The GigaMAX meets the requirements profile of our customer and combines current technology, cost-effectiveness and practicality in one.”

Established as a haulage company in 1945 with a tractor and home-built trailer, Colonia Spezialfahrzeuge Gottfried Schönges added mobile cranes to its fleet in the 1960s. It currently operates 300 units with more than 230 employees, providing crane and heavy transport services in the Rhineland region.
