UK based Emerson Crane Hire has appointed Stephen Palmer as business development manager, he joins the company from Wolffkran where he has been external operations lead since 2021.

Palmer began his career in the lifting industry in 2013 as a tower crane operator and appointed person with Wolffkran but moved on to construction company Mace after two years where he was appointed lifting operations manager, before taking on a similar role with civil engineering company Hawks in 2017. Two years later Palmer was appointed head of operations for Pro-lifting UK, before returning to Wolffkran in 2021.
Speaking of his new position Palmer said: “With 20 years of experience in the lifting industry, starting as a crane operator and working my way up, it’s both rewarding and inspiring to take on this new role with Emerson. Having previously been very operationally focused, I’m looking forward to combining that hands on knowledge with a commercial mindset to support both new and existing clients.”
Emerson Crane Hire was established by Edward Clancy in 1991 and now operates from three locations in Greater London - Dagenham, Basildon and Iver - with a fleet that ranges from three to 450 tonnes made up of mini crawler, spider, All Terrain and self erecting mobile tower cranes.
