Step up required

Spotted by one of our regulars a couple of weeks ago in La Jolla, California several men working from two 26ft slab scissor lifts with a height issue.

It looks as though the space available - some of it down to a slightly chaotic work area - and the beams prevented the scissor lifts being positioned so that the platforms could be raised to the height required. So, seeming to have no option one of them has felt ‘obliged’ to stand on the top guardrail to reach the work. The risks of doing this do not need explaining by us, at the mildest level it might involve a mind numbing groin injury should that foot slip off the rail … but enough of that.
A closer look

This incident does highlight the benefits of the step-up options that most scissor lift suppliers are now offering – although it looks as though this guy has developed his own in the form of a short plank. But he clearly felt he need more height still.

A 19ft micro scissor lift would have been ideal for the job or even a couple of portable push around lifts?

We will certainly put it into our Death Wish series.
Have a safe weekend.
