Steelwrist addition in Korea

Quick coupler and tiltrotator manufacturer Steelwrist has appointed Jongchul ‘JC’ Chun as its country manager for Korea.

In his new role he reports to Peter Lam, the vice president for the Asia Pacific region and will be based in South Korea. The move is part of an ongoing transformation in Steelwrist’s strategy in the South Korean market where it is looking to improve market share by stepping up its services to customers in what has become a fast growing market.

Chun joins the company after almost two years with aerial lift and telehandler manufacturer LGMG, where he was regional sales director. Prior to LGMG he spent almost five years with Skyjack having started with the Canadian company in 2018. During his time with the company, he and his team opened a new facility in Gyeonggi-do, just outside of Seoul.

He began his equipment related career when he joined Doosan in 2002 as an associate strategy manager, in 2006 the company transferred him to Doosan Infracore/Bobcat in India as business development manage returning to South Korean headquarters as sales and marketing manager for the Middle East the following year. In 2009 he was promoted to a corporate strategy role, working between South Korea and Atlanta Georgia. In 2011 his stay in the US was made more permanent with a move to Bobcat’s facility in Statesville South Carolina. In 2015 it was back to Seoul as head of portable power for Asia, and dealer development. In 2016 he then tried a change of industry, moving to injection moulding machinery company Yudu-Suns leaving after a year for a short spell with Atlas Copco as a business line manager, signing up with Skyjack six months later.
