Polish energy producer PGE and Danish developer Ørsted have ordered 108 fully electric three tonne Palfinger PF120 fixed boom marine service cranes for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Poland.

The cranes will be installed on the service platform of each turbine to handle the transfer of spare parts and tools during maintenance and repair operations. Delivery is scheduled from September to March 2026, with 107 units for operational use and one additional unit for training purposes.
The PF120 have one tonne capacty at up to four metres radius, or an exceptional capacity of three tonnes at three metres, its stows when not in use to an overall height of 2.25 metres.The units are specifically designed to manage the harsh, salty, offshore conditions.

Baltica 2 is the largest offshore wind project in Polish waters, it is the third offshore wind farm in Poland to use Palfinger cranes following the ongoing delivery of 100 PF120 cranes for the Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms.
