Houston, Texas based lifting gear sales and rental company Bishop Lifting has appointed Grant Garrett as chief executive.
Grant Garrett
Garrett joins the company from diesel engine parts sales company M&D Distributors where he has been chief executive for the past four and a half years. He began his career in 2001 as a district manager with Harbor Freight Tools covering the Southwest. After almost 10 years with the company, he moved to Home Depot subsidiary HD Supply as a store director, leaving in 2014 for truck and trailer parts distributor FleetPride, starting as a district manager in California, moving up through the organisation to become regional vice president of operations in 2019 leaving for M&D two years later.
He joins Bishop Lifting at a critical time for the business which has completed eight acquisition since it was acquired by Altamont Capital in 2022, several of them in the past 12 months, the latest being sling fabricator and rigging supply company American Rigger's Supply of Kansas City which completed at the start of the month. The latest spate of acquisitions have taken the company into Canada, Georgia, and Kansas, while expanding its branch network to 45 locations. The plan is to continue on the aggressive acquisition trail under Garrett’s leadership.
Speaking of his appointment Garrett said: "I am thrilled to join the Bishop team as the company continues to scale its presence in the lifting and safety products and services market. I look forward to working with the team as we grow and expand our presence in new and existing markets."
Bishop Lifting was established in 1984 and now claims to be the largest provider of wire rope, slings, rigging, fall protection, and related safety critical products in North America.
