Bridgestone Americas has launched the 445/95R25 V-Steel Highway Service 3 tyre for All Terrain and truck cranes, designed for on and off road ground conditions.
The tyre is US Department of Transportation approved and replaces the VHS2 in Bridgestone's range. The VHS3 has a load/speed index of 174 F meaning it can handle 6,700kg at a speed of 80kmh and features advanced rubber compound technology and sidewall construction, reducing heat buildup, minimising irregular wear and – the company says - extending tyre life by 12 percent compared to its predecessor.
The tyre's 23mm tread design includes wide grooves and extended lugs. A redesigned casing features a lighter belt, bead structure and shoulder design to help reduce fuel consumption while maintaining load capacity.
Bridgestone Americas Off-the-Road president Rob Seibert said: "Mobile and All Terrain cranes arguably tackle some of the most demanding and high stakes work of any of the off the road machines. Crane operators lift and transport heavy materials across job sites and travel at high speeds on different terrains, making a reliable and durable tyre essential for any large-scale project. The new Bridgestone VHS3 tyre is designed to give crane operators the confidence needed to move more, faster."
