Another acquisition for Wilkerson

US company Wilkerson Crane Rental has acquired Gilmore Crane Corporation of Topeka, Kansas, from owners DM Gary Holding.

The move adds a third location in Kansas, improving Wilkerson’s coverage in the northeast, while stepping up its commitment to the region. It also adds the facility, fleet and experienced staff. The Gilmore fleet includes carry deck cranes, boom trucks, truck mounts and All Terrains up to 200 tonnes. The Gilmore crane business will be integrated into Wilkerson's existing operations.

This is Wilkerson's third acquisition so far this year. It acquired Jensen Crane Services from the Rasmussen group in October, and St Joseph, Missouri, based, Ideal Crane from owners Chad and Kelly Duncan at the start of the year.

Wilkerson chief executive Cody Ward said: "Acquiring Gilmore Crane Corporation represents a significant milestone in our expansion strategy. Topeka is a hub for manufacturing and distribution, and this acquisition positions us to deliver faster response times and enhanced service capabilities throughout the region. We are excited to build upon Gilmore's legacy while bringing the full breadth of Wilkerson's resources to their established customer base."

Chief operating officer Larry Smith added: "This acquisition strengthens our operational footprint across Kansas and brings proven expertise into our team. We thank DM Gary Holding for this opportunity and look forward to integrating Gilmore's skilled workforce and equipment into our operations. Their strong safety record and customer focused approach make this a natural fit, and we're confident this partnership will create significant value for clients throughout the region."

Wilkerson is based in Bonner Springs, to the west of Kansas City, with branches in Wichita, Kansas, St Joseph, Missouri and Adair, Iowa. Its fleet includes a wide range of cranes for rent, with or without operators, along with heavy haulage, equipment servicing, and storage services. It runs All Terrains up to 800 tonnes, lattice crawlers to 600 tonnes, boom trucks and telehandlers, as well as a new Liebherr MK 140-5.1 self-erecting mobile tower crane.
