Tadano America has appointed Tyler Brown as national business manager for aerial work platforms in North America, but he will also support Tadano’s platform business on a pan-American basis.
In this new position, Brown will lead the North American sales team in the introduction of the company’s work platforms to new and existing customers. While Tadano has produced aerial work platforms for many years, which it largely sells in Japan, this move is driven by the acquisition of Nagano and its tracked boom lifts at the end of 2023 and more recently Oil & Steel’s spider lifts which came with the acquisition of Manitex at the end of 2024.
Tyler Brown
Brown previously worked with Fresno based replacement parts business RSW -Rental Supply Warehouse, but began his powered access related career at the start of 2004 as a territory sales manager with Genie. Over the next 14 years, he moved up through the organisation to service sales manager and then regional sales manager. In 2018, he moved into the access rental business with Acme Lift as senior vice president of Western operations. He left after four years for North Valley Research, where he was president, moving to RSW two years later,
Speaking of his appointment, Brown said: “It is an extreme privilege to join a world class manufacturer like Tadano and lead our dedicated team to help serve our customers' work platform needs. Leveraging Tadano’s expertise in the crane market, our innovative AWP line will provide customers with market leading products that have no equal.”
Tadano’s vice president of AWP business development for Pan-American operations, Erik Elzinga, added: “Building on our reputation in the lifting sector, we announced at bauma our intention to introduce a full range of Tadano AWP models for the North American market. We followed through on this commitment for our customers and now have machines operating and available in North America. The addition of Tyler is a key next step in expanding customer support for this business.”
Tadano says that it will show a full lineup of platforms for North America at the upcoming Conexpo show in Las Vegas.
