A man died after coming into contact with overhead power lines while using a large boom lift on a project at Sabine Pass on the south side of Port Arthur, Texas, on Friday morning.
Details a still minimal, but the boom, a large Genie telescopic was one of two booms working on a new public building going up opposite the school. The man was rescued from the platform with a fire ladder from the Port Arthur Fire Department, but was declared dead at the scene.
As soon as we learn more, we will update this item. Sadly, we are barely two weeks into the new year, and there are three aerial lift electrocutions that we know of, along with a least other incidents involving platforms. Not a great start to the new year.
