Austrian international crane and access rental group Prangl has announced the gradual withdrawal of managing director Christian Prangl from the day to day management of the company. The arrangements for the changeover were made in the summer, but have now come into full effect. Prangl will, however, remain closely involved with the business.
The group’s leadership team, going forward, will include Martin Proprentner as chief operating officer, with the additional responsibility for technology. Gerhard Eisenkölbl as chief sales officer and Christian Stano as chief financial officer.

The trio will be supported by the local management teams at the group's international locations, led by managing directors Helena Skrbič Sambolec for the countries along the Adriatic and Gabor Kopasz in Hungary. Both have been covering these roles for several years.
The team of five: (L-R) Christian Stano, Gerhard Eisenkölbl, Helena Skrbič Sambolec, Martin Proprentner and Gábor Kopasz Christian Prangl said: "This step is an important milestone for our group. Strong local units ensure our proximity to customers and markets. At the same time, consolidated and standardised structures create the foundation for efficient and scalable growth. The groundwork for this transition was laid last summer and is now coming into play.
"As a family business, we can look back on over 60 years of experience. With highly qualified employees, a modern fleet of equipment, and an international presence, we are among the industry leaders in the German speaking world. To be ideally positioned for the challenges ahead.”
Established by Josef Prangl in 1965, the group now runs a fleet of more than 200 cranes alongside a large fleet of aerial work platforms and telehandlers. It also operates a heavy transport and rigging business. In total, it has 17 locations with more than 650 employees in Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia.
