New name for Egi

EGI-Klubb, the French truck mounted and insulated platform manufacturer for utilities, industrial and fire service applications, has a new name - Carnegi - after it was acquired from insolvency by Brittany based Armoric Holdings, having entered administration on July the 3rd.

A comprehensive restructuring plan led to the laying off of 31 EGI-Klubb employees at the end of October, with only 16 retained on the 12,000 square metre site in Les Ayvelles, south of Charleville-Mézières in the Ardennes. Armoric Holding will integrate the business into Armoric Holding under the Carnegi name.

Armoric Holding has 500 employees and revenues of around €100 million, and specialises in custom bodywork, firefighting vehicles, armoured vehicles, precision mechanics and safety components, trading as Essonne Sécurité, Carosserie Guitton and now Carnegi.

Klubb acquired Egi in 2018 from its previous insolvency process after its parent Gimaex International, was declared insolvent at the end of 2017. The business has struggled with insolvency throughout much of its long history.
