Mep Hire - part of the Vp group - has promoted Pete McNeil to head of product. He has worked with the company since 2019, having joined as an account manager and was promoted to product manager in 2024.
Pete McNeil
McNeil began his career in 2003 as a plumber and gas fitter with contractor Twin Services in Middlesbrough. After more than seven years in the job, he moved to DIY retailer B&Q as a plumbing expert and was later promoted to trading manager. He left in 2016 for industrial manufacturing company John Guest, where he was appointed area sales manager for North East England. After three years with the company, he moved to wholesale building materials supplier Uponor, joining Mep Hire just 18 months later.
Speaking of his new role, he said: “I'm grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to continuing to develop our specialist fleet, working with an amazing team, and helping to drive the next phase of growth.”
Based in Glasgow, Scotland, MEP Hire was acquired by Vp in late 2006 and today has more than 250 employees across 13 locations, spread throughout England and Scotland. It has been renting tools and low level access equipment to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing industries for more than 23 years.
