Tower crane demo

Four people were arrested yesterday for using a Balfour Beatty tower crane in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. as part of an environmental demonstration against the Bank of America.

The incident involved the hanging of a large banner from the cranes jib and involved a San Francisco-based environmental group. It caused major traffic problems in the area during the morning commute.

The group was protesting against the Bank of America, for the support it apparently gives to companies that carry out mountain top coal mining methods.

All four were charged with trespassing and breaking and entering, they are said to be connected with the Rainforest Action Network.
