Mobile harbour trio for Seaboard

Seaboard Marine has taken three LHM 550 mobile harbour cranes in high-rise configuration to work at its terminals at Port Miami and Port of Houston
The 104 tonne capacity cranes have an outreach of up to 54 metres and can handle the New Panamax vessels with rapid turnaround times. Seaboard ordered the new cranes with tower extensions, custom support pads and paint, along with both electric and hydrostatic drive trains, in order to comply with the port's plans to go all electric.

PortMiami processed over 1.1 million TEUs in 2024, with Seaboard Marine as the largest carrier by cargo volume at the port. The new cranes will strengthen berth productivity and support growth in refrigerated cargo and breakbulk shipments.

The Port of Houston handled a record 4.1 million TEUs last year, with the additional crane capacity expected to improve flexibility for container handling while supporting Seaboard Marine’s multipurpose service model.

Andreas Ritschel of Liebherr‑Rostock said: “The collaboration with Seabourne demonstrates our shared commitment to future ready solutions and operational excellence.”
