Point of Rental acquires The Owl

Point of Rental Software has acquired 'The Owl', a rental data insights platform founded by Anthony Durante and John Feliciano.

Durante and Feliciano say that they founded The Owl in order to bridge a gap between raw data and real world rental operations, turning performance data into practical usable information.

The Owl will be integrated into Point of Rental’s Rental Intelligence Suite, in order to enhance its analytics capabilities with real-world operational experience. The company will retain The Owl’s core team, including Durante and Feliciano who are expected to play a key role in advancing point of Rental’s analytics strategy.

Point of Rental said: “More than a technology acquisition, this move represents a strategic investment in deep rental industry knowledge and leadership. Customers will benefit from more meaningful benchmarking, clearer performance visibility, and tools built by people who understand the day-to-day realities of running a rental company.

Feliciano added: “We built The Owl because we saw firsthand how powerful data could be when it’s presented in a way operators can truly use. Joining Point of Rental gives us the scale to continue that mission: helping more rental companies turn information into impact.”

Anthony Durante is a true veteran of the rental industry, have worked with Durante Equipment from 1991 until it was acquired by United Rentals in 2000, he stayed on board for a year or so and in 2002 established Gotham Equipment & Supply in New York. In 2009 he merged it into a new company Durante Rentals established with Christopher Jones. The business acquired Quality Rent All of Carmel, New York in 2015 and Iron Source in 2023, and was itself acquired by Herc in 2024. Following that deal he co founded Owl with John Feliciano who had spent several years with Durante Rentals from 2017 until joining Point of Rental in 2021, during that time he also handled data related consultancy work, and in 2024 worked with Durante to set up The Owl.
