Liebherr updates 90 tonner

Liebherr has unveiled the updated 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.3 at Conexpo in Las Vegas. The new model, equipped with the Liccon3 control system, is an updated version of the LTM 1090-4.2.

Its predecessor, the LTM 1090-4.2, was launched at Conexpo in 2017. The updated crane now features increased capacity on its 60 metre main boom, plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset to offer a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. It can be configured with axle loads of 10, 12 or 16 tonnes, and up to 8.8 tonnes of counterweight can be carried with a 12 tonne axle load.

The company said: “Like its predecessor, the LTM 1090-4.3 has a 60 metre telescopic boom, but its performance has been further increased, particularly when extended and in a steep position. This is a great advantage for the assembly of tower cranes, one of its main applications.”

Liccon3 features updated software, faster data transfer, increased memory capacity and greater computing power, while maintaining the familiar operating concept for operators. The system includes a large touchscreen display, revised information layout, and is prepared for telemetry and fleet management via the MyLiebherr portal.

Standard features include ECOdrive, ECOmode, VarioBallast, and VarioBase. The crane is also equipped for RemoteDrive operation and includes safety systems such as Blind Spot Information System and Moving Off Information System. Additional options include a central lubrication system and digital tyre pressure monitoring.
