GIS heads to Parma

The next Italian crane and access exhibition GIS Giornate Italiane del Sollevamento - ‘Italian Lifting Days’ in English, will be held in Parma from the 7th to the 9th of October 2027.

The show, which runs every two years, began in 2009 in Piacenza, and has been held at the exhibition centre there ever since. The last few years, however, have had issues with parking, traffic and other such things, especially since it has grown rapidly in recent years, and now not only includes cranes, aerial work platforms and telehandlers, but also forklift trucks, heavy transport and port and industrial handling equipment.

Piacenza simply could not cope. The Fiere di Parma exhibition centre is not only four times the size of Piacenza, but also offers better transport links, parking – with capacity for up to 9,000 vehicles – good local hotels and better logistics and material handling capabilities.
GIS 2025

Organiser Fabio Potestà said: “We have grown alongside our exhibitors over the years, so it was frustrating not to be able to give everyone the space they wanted for GIS 2025. That’s the sole reason for the move, and we have already had requests from exhibitors to double the size of their stands for GIS 2027 in Parma. We are inviting both exhibitors and associations to tour the new venue this month.”

“It’s a bittersweet move. On one hand, it reflects how much GIS has grown, and we are grateful for the continued industry support. On the other hand, Piacenza has been our home since 2009 and has served us very well, so it was not a decision we took lightly.”
