Second 80t cargo crane for Paraguay

Paraguay maritime company Puerto Seguro Fluvial has taken delivery of its second 80 tonne Liebherr FCC 280 fixed cargo crane.

The FCC 280 is mounted on an 11 metre pedestal with a maximum capacity of 80 tonnes at an 18 metre radius, or 45 tonnes at 38 metres. It has a lift /lower speed of up to 40 metres a minute with an empty hook, or 29 metres a minute with 35 tonnes and 23 metres a minute with 45 tonnes.
The crane installation required a pier extension, with the new unit set to handle container operations. It joins an existing FCC 280 installed eight years ago and a 30 tonne FCC 230.
