3,000t XCMG for Tecmaco

Argentinian crane, telehandler and access rental company Tecmaco has taken delivery of a 3,000 tonne XCMG XCA3000BR telescopic All Terrain crane.

The 10 axle crane has a five section 68.6 metre main boom and is rated at two metres, while practical capacities start at a three metre radius, where it can handle 500 tonnes, but it can also manage that at a nine metre radius. With the main boom fully extended, it can lift 257.1 tonnes at up to an eight metre radius or take 38 tonnes out to a radius of 64 metres.

The maximum counterweight is 360 tonnes, while the X-type outriggers have a maximum spread of 15.1 metres square, or a narrow set-up of 13.1 metres.

The boom can be topped with up to 110 metres of in-line lattice extension, which, combined with 63.7 metres of boom, provides the maximum 188 metre tip height.

Using 50 metres of extension and fully extended 68.7 metres of boom the crane can handle 308 tonnes at up to 18 metres or take 291 tonnes to a height of 120 metres at an 18 metre radius.

The maximum luffing jib is 90 metres and can be installed on a 10 or 20 metre in-line lattice extension. With 63.7 metres of main boom, it achieves a tip height of 176 metres and a 94 metre radius.

The crane uses a Superlift system for most longer extension and jib configurations.
The new crane is aimed largely at wind turbine installation work, as well as infrastructure construction.

Tecmaco has also taken 10 more modestly sized XCMG truck cranes, bringing its total crane fleet to 150 units, operating from five locations.
