Luxembourg based rental company ATS Cranes has taken delivery of a 230 tonne Liebherr LTM1230-5.1 All Terrain crane, which replaces a 10 year old 200 tonne Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 AT.
To mark its 25th anniversary, the company opted for the crane to be painted in the colours of the Luxembourg flag
The five axle LTM 1230-5.1 is equipped with an eight section, 75 metre main boom and can be topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets by up to 40 degrees. Up to three, seven metre inserts can also be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a maximum tip height of 113 metres with the main boom at 68 metres.
(L-R) Sebastian Hoff of ATS with Erich Schneider of Liebherr, along with Frédéric Kleinhans, Anthony Houpert and Thomas Franzke of ATS ATS managing director, Frédéric Kleinhans said: “We compared various manufacturers and opted for Liebherr. The LTM 1200 provided very satisfactory service over many years, so the LTM 1230-5.1 is the logical next step. The combination of a long telescopic boom and a double folding extension significantly increases the crane’s flexibility. This enables us to carry out a wide variety of jobs - from traditional construction sites and industrial projects to assembly work - cost effectively.”
Established in 2002 and based in Frisange, on the French border, the company runs a fleet of 140 mobile cranes up to 650 tonnes, crawler cranes to 1,100 tonnes and aerial work platforms, as well as a heavy transport fleet.
