Selini acquires Raicar Services

Italian aerial lift, telehandler and forklift sales and rental company Gruppo Selini has acquired forklift dealer and rental company Raicar Service.

Bergamo based Gruppo Selini, which is controlled by France’s Chequers Capital, has purchased a 75 percent stake in Raicar, which it says will “expand its coverage in the Piedmont and Liguria regions, two strategically important markets for the Italian logistics and material handling industry.”

Established in the early 1980s by the Raina family and is based in Santa Vittora d'Alba, southeast of Turin in Cuneo, the company is led today by the second generation of the Raina family under the leadership of Alessandro Raina.

Raicar is the authorised Toyota forklift dealer for the provinces of Cuneo, Asti, Savona, and Imperia.
Selini was established in 1969 as Color-Fer SpA, selling hardware and industrial supplies for companies in Bergamo and the immediate area, adding forklift sales and rental a couple of years later.

Today it is managed by Roberto Selini and focuses mainly on aerial work platforms, forklifts and telehandlers with a rental fleet that numbers 20,000 units based across 12 urban areas, with 23 branches in Bergamo, Filago, Flero, Leinì Mantua, Marghera Ravenna, Salorno, Saluzzo, Suzzara, Trento and Verona under the Salini banner.

Other companies within the Selini group include Omacs forklifts Savona, Ro.Max in Bergamo, Omacs Forklift Trucks in Savona, MHS Logistics in Brescia, Modena, Milan Padua, Vizzolo Maranello and Rho and CAMI2 in Padua.

Selini also owns LiftUP Gabelstapler in Bremen and Stuttgart, Germany as well as Selini Bulava in Kyiv, Ukraine and had revenues last year of €200 million.

Paris based Chequers Capital acquired a majority stake in 2021, while the Selini family and senior managers retained a minority holding. Revenues at that time were in the region of €70 million.
