UK Load monitoring equipment specialist Dynamic Load Monitoring (DLM) has launched an in-house Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot dubbed DynaBot.
The tool is trained on DLM's full product and service range, covering applications in offshore cable laying, oil and gas, marine and lifting, and is designed to answer questions that would previously have required an email or phone call. The company says the responses are based on verified engineering knowledge and were developed through a training and testing process involving product data, scenario based Q&As and review by DLM engineers.
DLM chairman, Martin Halford said: "We are always looking for practical ways to continuously improve how we support our customers. The chatbot enables us to provide quick, direct answers to queries, helping customers to find what they need without any delays. It doesn't replace the interaction we value, but it instead adds another layer of client support."
Where DynaBot cannot answer a question, it asks the user for contact details so a member of the DLM team can follow up or otherwise provides the team's contact information directly. The company says the system will continue to be updated, with future versions expected to handle more in-depth technical queries.
Based in Southampton, DLM specialises in designing, manufacturing and servicing load measurement equipment for industries such as offshore, marine and lifting and rigging industry.
