ABAX introduces Vision AI

Telematics solutions provider ABAX has launched ABAX Vision Artificial Intelligence (AI), combining video cameras and driver safety technology directly into its fleet management platform.

The system uses AI built into the camera itself to spot unsafe driving in real time - including fatigue, distraction, phone use, tailgating and lane drift - and warns the driver with an audio alert as it happens. Video is uploaded automatically to the database and linked to the relevant trip, driver and route, so fleets no longer need a separate dashcam system or have to physically remove an SD card to get footage. The company says this also gives fleets timestamped video evidence to support incident investigations and insurance claims.

Senior technical project manager, Jack Bell said: "A traditional dashcam tells you what happened, ABAX Vision AI helps fleets understand why it happened and helps drivers prevent incidents before they occur. By bringing video, AI, and fleet data together, we're giving customers the complete picture."

Vision AI is available in forward or dual-facing (road and driver) formats and only records trigger events rather than constant monitoring, which the company says helps balance safety monitoring with driver privacy.
