450 tonner for Davis

Davis Crane Group in the USA has taken delivery of a 450t Tadano AC 7.450-1 All Terrain crane.

The seven axle AC 7.450-1 features a seven section 80 metre main boom and can be equipped with extensions up to 59 metres for just under 130 metres of tip height, with 64.8 metres of boom plus a 59 metre extension. Or rigged with a 56 metre extension topped with a fixed offset jib for a 133 metre tip height. Finally, it can be rigged with an 81 metre luffing jib combined with the enhanced SSL Sideways Superlift system for a similar tip height. The maximum counterweight is 150 tonnes.

The crane is also equipped with Tadano's 'Surround View' system that employs six cameras to create a computer aided display in the operator's cab, showing the maximum possible outrigger extension at the crane’s current position, and thus achieve the largest possible base and therefore optimum load chart for that location.
The new crane will start out working on a data centre project in West Texas, and will then move on to wind turbine, bridges and infrastructure jobs.
The new crane arrives in Texas with Davis

Chief executive Dennis Davis said: “We’re looking forward to putting this crane to work with our Goins Crane Service team and seeing what it can do for our customers across West Texas.”

Chief operating officer Wes Dowd added: “With its lifting capacity, long reach and versatility, the AC 7.450-1 strengthens our ability to support heavier, more demanding projects across our customer base. And the technology of this crane is impressive, from flexible road configurations to intelligent control software.”
