Nifty's Vertikal Days launches

Self propelled boom and trailer lift manufacturer Niftylift is set to release three new products at Vertikal Days next month, including the 63ft HR21 H2E, 66ft HR22SDE and another all new self-propelled boom.

The first machine, the 63ft HR21 H2E boom lift, is based on the HR21E electric, but fitted with a hydrogen-electric power option. The base machine is unchanged, with the fuel cell recharging the batteries rather than powering the machine directly. According to the company, a single battery charge provides two days of work, while hydrogen pack roughly doubles it. The unit is aimed at contractors working in zero exhaust emission zones.

Niftylift is also introducing its diesel-electric power option on the 66ft HR22SE telescopic boom lift - which was launched in 2024 - also at Vertikal Days - dubbed the HR22SDE. As with other Nifty diesel-electric machines, the engine is used only to recharge the batteries rather than drive the machine, this means Nifty can fit a smaller, quieter engine than a conventional diesel or hybrid system would require.

Both power options are also available as retrofits. Hydrogen-electric can be fitted to existing HR15E, HR17E and, as of the launch, HR21E machines, while diesel-electric can be fitted to existing HR22SE units.

The third debut is a new compact self-propelled boom lift, the name of which has not yet been released. Niftylift describes it as featuring a new chassis and a new boom design, with low weight for its size, aimed at confined spaces and sensitive floor surfaces. Full specifications are due to be released closer to the show.

Managing director John Keely said: "Innovation is only half of what our customers need from us. The other half is making sure the machines already in their fleets keep pace with what the market demands, and that is what these new power pack options do. Our focus is on giving customers machines that deliver a good return on investment today and are future-proofed against the evolving needs of the market."
