450 tonner for Jandt

German crane rental company Jandt Kranvermietung has taken delivery of a 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1 All Terrain crane, iwhcih take over as ts new flagship.

The six axle crane - the company’s first - features a six section 70 metre main boom with Y-Guy Superlift, along with numerous lattice extensions and jib options, including a 45.5 metre luffing extension for a maximum tip height of around 120 metres or an 80.5 metre luffing jib for up to 140 metres. The crane will be used primarily in infrastructure projects relating to renewable energy and in overhead line construction.

Jens Lübeck, one of Jandt's two managing directors, said: “By moving into a larger crane class, we are sending a clear signal about our business development and, of course, responding to market demands. With loads becoming ever heavier, we have reached the limits of our current crane fleet in some areas and have only been able to meet project requirements in collaboration with our partner companies. This step marks a logical progression for us and our customers.”

Jandt Kranvermietung is a family owned business based in Bielefeld-Quelle, north west Germany, with branches in Bad Salzuflen, Detmold, Gütersloh and Holzminden. It was founded in 1950 as a haulage and excavation contractor and moved into cranes in the 1960s to support its other activities, which include building and civil engineering, overhead crane installation, steel and concrete erection, and machinery moving and installation.

The company was re-established in 1998 and is managed by the Diercks and Lübeck families. Sven Diercks and Jens Lübeck took over the day to day management at the start of January last year and are planning further expansion. Today the fleet numbers around 40 cranes.
