Niftylift's global unveiling at Vertikal Days

Self-propelled boom and trailer lift manufacturer Niftylift will unveil two all new ultra lightweight boom lifts, the 26ft HR10NE and HR10LE with 10 metres working height, at Vertikal Days this week.

They are the final product launch of three at this week's event and are the two unnamed booms the company trailed last week.

Both versions share the same single riser and fixed length boom elevation mechanism, for a 10 metre working height, 4.3 metres of outreach, with a 1.2 metre by 850mm platform. They both have and overall stowed height of 1.98 metres.

The difference is in the chassis - the HR10NE is narrower at 1.5 metres, and weighs around 1,850kg and is suited for tight spaces or aisles, while the wider HR10LE is 1.8 metres wide and weighs just 1,600kg, light enough for floating/ raised access floors and other weight sensitive surfaces. They are also light enough to be towed on trailers behind electric or hybrid vehicles and SUVs.

Both feature the company's SiOPS secondary guarding system, ToughCage platform and Niftylink telematics as standard. Full specifications will be available on the company's stand open to visitors on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

The company said the HR10 is its first machine in the 10 metre class since the original was discontinued in 2015, but that it is a new design rather than a revival, with a chassis and boom derived from the current HR12 range and nothing carried over from the earlier machine. The new booms join the hydrogen electric 63ft HR21 H2E and the diesel electric 66ft HR22SDE, both also launching at the show.

Managing director John Keely said: "The 10 metre class matters again in a way it didn't a decade ago. More jobs are happening inside occupied buildings, on finished floors and in spaces that were never designed to accommodate machinery. Some of those jobs are limited by how narrow a machine can be, and some by how little weight the floor will take. We have built for both rather than compromising on either. Neither of these is a scaled-down version of something bigger."
